Fluff

Fluff is a fast, light utility for files. Fluff uses the FLTK user interface library, which makes it is especially efficient on TinyCore Linux. The source code of Fluff is released under the GNU license. See http://www.gnu.org/licenses/ for more details.

Fluff provides a two-pane view of your filesystem, with a directory-tree view on the left and a file details list for one selected directory on the right. There are right-click pop up menus to issue commands for a specific directory, file, or selected group of files. There is a button bar of common commands, including two file-type specific buttons (also implemented in the file right-click menu) that can be used to launch an associated application program for file type. Double-clicking a file will automatically trigger the first associated program for regular files. Double-clicking a directory will change the selected directory. You may view a file's properties, and within the file properties window, you may change the file name, ownership, and permissions. You may drag-and-drop files to other directories to copy or move them. You may directly delete files, or if you want a chance to recover them later, you may use the "trash" feature. There is a file path history list to make it easy to jump back to previously-selected directories. There are many keyboard shortcuts.

NOTE: If you install the .tcz extension in TinyCore Linux Version 3.3 or later, you may see a duplicate wbar icon for Fluff (one as "Fluff" one as "FileMgr"). You may be able to use the wbar maintenance tool to remove one.

Current version is 1.0.3 (beta for version 1.1.0). Recent changes:

    • Support expected text copy and paste keystrokes during file/directory name renaming mode

    • Reduce flicker with double-buffered window feature of FLTK

    • Fix weird narrow window width glitch that sometimes happens when dragging window size

    • Make sure "generic file" type appears in the Filetypes management dialog box and allows users to manage the associated applications for generic files as all the other specific file types
