Frank G Adams

The "Homesick Angel" was the nose art name designating a B-17 Bomber during World War II.

The name "Homesick Angel" was actually used by the 8th Army Air Force bomber crew lead by Lt. Edward R. Larrivee

to designate multiple aircraft flown by the crew during the pre-war trainup and during nineteen combat missions over Germany.

T/Sgt Frank G. Adams was a crew member of the "Homesick Angel", B-17G #42-31888, when it was shot down by a Focke-Wulf 190 on March 23, 1944.

Frank was one of two survivors of a ten-man crew. After parachuting from the burning aircraft Frank was picked by by a German soldier and told "For You der Var ist Over".

Frank spent the remainder of the war in Stalag Luft 1, a German prisoner of war camp located in Barth, Germany, near the Baltic Sea.
