The shelf design is inspired by lips, the idea is that when you open the shelf, the two parts move as the mouth movements just as a talking person - tells stories, eat food, singing and more. Therefor I designed a shelf that suitable for books storage, edibles, drinks and tools, CDs, cosmetics and all other associations using lips.

The shelf is built from a wooden box, which is connected to the two parts of the lips that opens and closes by a hinge and serves as the door. The shelf is made of a sandwich wood, the lips from melamine wooden and they covered with formica.

Lips shelf have humorous, dynamic and minimalist look. Used as a hidden storage and as a decorative element when designing a space.
