damages

This is going to start as an un organized mess of information...

It'll take some reasonable form later.

since in earlier MS days all damage messages were what is now the 'blunt' damage messages, the standard for naming and comparing damages is the 'blunt' set.

miss, graze, hit, hit hard, hit very hard, smash, massacre, annihilate.

for normal weapon use in normal circumstances you'll never see an 'annihilate'. only in extreme situations where there's for some reason a ton of weapon power, being used against a monster with a weakness towards that damage, and even then it's rare, will you score an annihilate.

guilds have special messages for the damages of their skills and spells, some in line with 'blunt', some not. also some guilds have a message for a damage over annihilate.

for all types, a miss is a miss:

You missed [monster] while aiming for his [location] with your [weapon].

for all other damages, it generally follows the format of:

You [damage1] [monster] [damage2] on his [location] with your [weapon] [damage3].

'damage2' and 'damage3' are both optional and not always used.

Blunt:

You grazed [monster] on his [location] with your [weapon].

You hit [monster] on his [location] with your [weapon].

You hit [monster] hard on his [location] with your [weapon].

You hit [monster] very hard on his [location] with your [weapon].

You smashed [monster] with a bone crushing sound on his [location] with your [weapon].

You massacred [monster] on his [location] with your [weapon].

You annihilated [monster] on his [location] with your [weapon].

* Electric and Lightning are 2 different damage types, but use the same descriptions.
