About me

I specialize in formal epistemology and traditional epistemology, and my work also relates to issues in philosophical logic, philosophy of mind and philosophy of science.  My other philosophical interests include philosophy of language and linguistics and metaethics. Currently, I am an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before that, I worked at ANU and Washington University in St. Louis.

My book "Unsettled Thoughts", which develops an account of Bayesian rationality for non-ideal thinkers was published with OUP in 2019

I also think about how we can teach our students better, especially with regard to teaching formal methods and modifying our curriculum to keep up with recent developments in Artificial Intelligence. If you'd like to learn more about this, click here.

When I don't do philosophy, I like to cook and knit things. I am a baker for the charity Cake4Kids. I also do aerial silks, which involves hanging from the ceiling wrapped up in fabric. It looks like this.
