We have not been actively looking to add new data to the 2018 baseline this year as the IoW Bat Group has been more focussed on our outreach activities. However one question people often ask is how accurate is the predictive capability of the model, so I've included an example from this year where we have initially surveyed a new site in the Godshill area. In the example below, you can see the prediction for Barbastelle bat presence is high, given by the gold blocks. So in this case I would expect to be seeing Barbastelle bats on just one survey, which was actually the case and these are shown by the yellow marks (click on the picture to blow the picture up). We intend to go back and do a full depth survey at some point to test the prediction of the model for some of the more difficult to record bats like the Bechsteins Bat which should also be present...
