Quadrangle Film Festival - 2-4th September 2011

Set in the heart of the Kent countryside and just half an hour from London by train, the Quadrangle is a collection of nineteenth century farm buildings set around a central courtyard. It is here that we are holding the first Quadrangle Film Festival, using the barn, the granary and the stables for our screenings. There will be camping in the meadow or sleeping in the dormitory in one of the old barns over the weekend. For those less hardy, B&Bs can be found nearby. The Quadrangle Film Festival will be a unique and intimate meeting place for a deliberately wide range of filmmakers, from world renowned directors to recent film graduates. Through curated screenings and filmmaker workshops, the festival will actively encourage a dialogue between new talent and established documentarians, inspiring new directors with stimulating films, talks and workshops, while giving filmmakers with more experience a chance to discover the new voices in the documentary world.
Submissions are now open for non-fiction films of any length, and will be assessed by a judging panel that includes Sandra Whipham, Christopher Hird, Olly Lambert. Films will be selected on both their merit and also their ability to inspire debate amongst our guests around the central questions of documentary filmmaking.
We also have a line-up of experienced filmmakers, lecturers and producers who will be showing their work and doing master-classes in filmmaking and production. Names so far include Simon Chambers, Natasha Dack, Laura Fairrie, Christopher Hird, Luke Holland, Marc Issacs, Kim Longinotto, Olly Lambert, Havana Marking, Jason Massot, Liz Mermin, Julie Moggan, Barney Snow, Paul Watson, Sandra Whipham, Mike Yorke, and Stephen Nugent
To oil the wheels there will be excellent locally produced food, a bar, music, and walks through the downs.
