Disclosures and Caveats: Non-Dollar Currencies

The Inv. Return and With Dividend calculators will compute the annual compound interest rate, regardless of which currency the Purchase and Sale price are transacted in. If you bought for one dollar and sold for two dollars, with a holding period of one year, your annual interest rate, compounded daily is 69.4 percent. If you bought for one yen and sold for two yen, with a holding period of one year, your annual interest rate, compounded daily is 69.4 per cent. So the Inv. Return and Dividend calculators will calculate investment returns in any currency.

The Retirement calculator will compute the nominal value of your retirement nest egg in any currency, although it is hard-coded to put a dollar sign in front of the nest egg amount. The pre-coded values for the Yearly Contribution picker may make the selection of Yearly Contribution less flexible in currencies that have nominal values extremely different than the dollar (for example one yen is in general, one hundredth the value of one dollar).

The prompts for the various input fields are obviously in English only in this release. The date conventions in Investment Return are U.S. date conventions in this release.
