eRx Adoption

Au et al (2011) surveyed 2,057 Florida physicians in 2008 on their adoption of e-prescribing. The authors conclude that a higher proportion of Medicare patients drives adoption most likely because of anticipation of CMS incentives.

I find the bell-shaped adoption curve interesting (perhaps a typo - I'm trying to reach the author). I'm also wondering if practice size doesn't alter the findings as well: Solo practices 20.2%, 2-9 physicians 24.2%, 10 or more roughly 50% adoption.

I'll update this post if I learn more.
