Malik Sandal Ni Vav, Champaner, Gujarat - 23rd Nov 2019
Location : Google Maps
( I just added the location to Google Maps so it may not show up for a while )
'Malik Sandal Ni Vav' appears in some articles on Champaner-Pavagadh ( Wiki )
However the exact location of this vav is not mentioned.
I also found this vav listed on a World Heritage List ( Link ).
I found the vav - it took some time, effort and help from some of the locals.
As expected it is neglected and not being maintained by anyone (ASI ?).
There is a pump to draw water from the vav.
So, this is the only vav I've seen the water from which is actually used by the locals :-)
The vav was full of water, the monsoons had just ended.
The right time to visit might be April-May when the water level has fallen.
Approaching the vav, it is barely visible.
The length of the vav, barely visible.
The entrance to the vav.
Best time to visit might be April-May when the water level has fallen.
The 'well' at the rear of the vav.
Notice the pump. The locals actually use the water from this vav.
There was a snake in the vav.
100% crop of the above pic.
To get to the vav one needs to enter this cottage gate.
The residents very kindly took me to the vav.
I just pinned the location to Google maps.
Since it may not appear for a while, see below pic.
