Teaching

I have carried out the bulk of my teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1997-2001) and the London Metropolitan University (2003-), and taught occasionally at other times when I was holding research positions.

At the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1997-2001), I taught all the undergraduate modules and small-group graduate seminars in the areas of personality and motivation, as well as one of the parallel introductory psychology modules for non-psychology majors.

At the London Metropolitan University (2003-2010), I taught all the undergraduate introduction research methods modules and specific research methods sessions for postgraduate and doctoral students. I also contributed to the undergraduate teaching of personality and occupational psychology.

At the London Metropolitan University (2011-2018), I focused my teaching on postgraduate occupational psychology and undergraduate personality, and kept teaching introductory research methods only on a distance learning course.

At the London Metropolitan University (2018-), I have focused my teaching on undergraduate personality. Starting next year, I will shift my focus on the teaching of positive psychology.

Besides lecture-based teaching, I coordinated the postgraduate diploma in psychology dissertations from 2007 to 2015 and the undergraduate psychology dissertations since 2016. To date, I have supervised a total of 178 dissertations.
