Some recordings of VL8A Alice Springs. The transmitter did switch frequency close to sunrise.
This used to switch from 2310 to 4835KHz at 21.30 but from 29 May 2012 a fault has kept it on 4835.
Most evenings reception is good enough to discern Australian reports. India is the only other station I find listed on 4835KHz, this is scheduled to switch off at 16.00
