Agenda - Decisions and Action Items

Boys Team Update

The season going well, very small number of older athletes but the younger swimmers are all still on the

team and the first home meet is Thursday. Computer and set up all in order. Need more timers for the

meets and also for Chuck a Duck. Boys' Facebook page is asking for help on the timers etc.

Treasurer Report

Erica has not received a statement from the bank so that is mooted for the next meeting.

Fundraising

DQ - set for the last day of school. June 6th. Jon liaises with the manager.

Camera Fundraising

Rebecca Fahning reported the 4 dates from Cub have raised around $3000. Another for this

Sunday. All help is needed! Boys and Girls teams will be notified.

More donation are promised from other Rotary clubs, which will be matched by the District.

Winter Plunge, Rebecca is working on the final details with Rotary and there will be a link so that

people can sign up. Boys team are in JV Conference that day and also a synchro meet locally so

that might affect those able to plunge.

Once the details are clarified Rebecca will send a final link for sign up.

Should each athlete have an expectation of $ amount to raise. Is $50 per athlete reasonable?

Ellemae has spoken with the Student Council in the hope that they might raise money for the

cause and plunge for the fundraiser also.

Rebecca is waiting on Ross Ortho to confirm if they will sponsor.

Jon and Hayley are agreeable to meeting as a Plunge committee with Rebecca.

Laura present offered a basket of goodies for the highest pledge athlete.

Perhaps an embroidered towel for each girl/boy/synchro athlete with highest $ raised. They are

about $12 cost.

Could HS principal offer incentive and join the plunge etc.

Wavemakers will purchase camera system with the grant money. Camera system will be stored a

the HS . Insurance - is that covered with HS?

Jim can ask.

Current camera location unknown. *Hayley found out this is with Boys coach *

Banner ideas are in and Rebecca is asking to see if they can be printed at the FL printing for free.

Erica will print or send the Venmo QR code to Rebecca.

Rebecca has given the coaches a deadline of Jan 1st 2024 for the coaches to decide on a camera system.

She has not heard yet.

Other Business

Pool Records

Girls need updating. Jim sent one record but there are 2 more we think. Ask Rochelle. Dean and Jon can

get them sorted. Asked Rochelle.

Hospitality Tote

In girls locker room, Any reports it is stocked.

Equipment for pool status. Lines are ordered and in. Not got wedge, diving board fixed.

Pizza Party

Didn’t raise as much as the WM hoped for that fundraiser with the Epilepsy truck. $400 upto promised

for boys team pizza. Rebecca queried the incentive and was brought upto date with the premise behind

it. We did not raise as much as previous years on the truck clothing drive and had to vote on an $ for an

incentive. It is UPTO $400. Fortunately the boys team is the smallest!

Synchro Board

Still with Laura to approve. *Heard from Dean that Laura has all the names and details she just wanted

some extra graphics and needed to add that. Still waiting. Jon’s goal is a synchro record board! We can

contact swim parent alumni Mike Thomas to see how the record board is fixed.

Need all voting members and team reps at the next meeting.

Keep the reps as parents but would like the captains of the teams to meet with the Wavemakers in the

first meeting of next year, 2025. Work on team goals and see how we can impact the teams and get their input.

Next Meeting - February 6th - 7 pm.

The meeting end 8:02 pm
