Principal Investigator
Ji-Hee Kim received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in the Department of Physics at Chungnam National University, Korea, in 2005, 2007, and 2011, respectively. She was a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Rice University, Houston, TX, USA from 2011-2013, and a visiting scholar at National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Tallahassee, FL, USA from 2011-2013. She then joined the Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics, Institute for Basic Science, as a research professor in 2013. Since 2017, she supervised the IBS Core Project team as a team leader from 2017-2023. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University from 2019-2023. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Pusan National University, joined in 2023.

Thanh-Xuan Tran, Ph.D. Candidate

Tran Thanh Xuan obtained the Bachelor degree (2018) and Master degree (2020) in Ho Chi Minh University of Technology. He is currently a PhD candidate in Department of Energy Science, Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea. His research interests are carrier multiplication of 2D materials for optoelectronic applications and intermediate band solar cells.
Ye Tao, Ph.D. Candidate

Ye Tao received his M.S. degree from North China Electric Power University, China in 2021. He joined Prof. Kim's group to pursue his Ph.D. in the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University in 2021. His current research interests include i) finding quantum solutions for solar cells and ii) controlling the coherent state in 2D materials with femtosecond laser spectroscopy for quantum information technology.
Joonsoo Kim, M.S./Ph.D. Candidate

Joonsoo Kim received his B.S. degree in applied physics from Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea (2018). He is currently a MS-PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Ji-Hee Kim of the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea. He is studying carrier multiplication and phonon dynamics of two-dimensional materials by femtosecond laser. His research interests include ultrafast spectroscopy, optical properties, charge transport mechanisms and carrier multiplication of low dimensional materials.
Saejin Oh, M.S./Ph.D. Candidate

Saejin Oh received his B.S. degree in organic materials engineering from Chungnam National University in 2021. He is currently an integrated M.S. with a Ph.D. degree student under the supervision of Prof. Ji-Hee Kim of the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University. His research interest is nonlinear optoelectronic processes, including singlet fission, triplet-triplet annihilation and etc.
Vu Khac Dat, M.S./Ph.D. Candidate

Vu Khac Dat received his Engineer's degree from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam in 2020. He is currently an integrated M.S. and Ph.D degree student under the supervision of Prof. Ji-Hee Kim of the Department of Energy Science at Sungkyunkwan University. His research interests include applications of 2D materials for optoelectronic devices, including solar cells.
