Pferdsfeld

Today Pferdsfeld lays in the area of Palatinate, in German Rheinland-Pfalz (49 51'29''N 7 36'04''E). The village of Pferdsfeld had been destroyed to build NATO airbase (now abandoned).  The neighbour town is Auen or Winterburg near the Soonwald, a timberland. It´s in the Highlands of the Hundsrück above the river Nahe. At this river you have wine, in the mountains snow.

Earlier times the area was in ownership of the Lords of Sponheim, but never Rheinland.

After the 2nd war the fixed some smaller areas to bigger together and all the little principalities (like Sponheim) integrated in these new Federal States here in Germany.

This one gets the name Rheinland-Pfalz, but as I said, Pferdsfeld never was a part of Palatinate or Rheinland. But you found a lot of these remarks of Rheinland, especially in homepages in the US.

But from this distance it´s difficult to understand and it´s a lot of history behind this knowledge.
