I would like to invite you to contribute a chapter on the basis of your interest in Polanyi, markets and society. What I have in mind from you is a chapter covering the role of markets to appear in the section on markets and consumption. I am looking for critical reflection and alternative thought on the topic. Strict Word Limit including references 5000 words. An additional 200 word abstract and a
set of keywords not counting towards word limit will be required.
Aim
Provide an essay-length overview of the research conducted on a topic/subject as well as
looking forward to what’s coming next. In the case of methods, explain their basic operation.
Format Suggested for Essay
1. Introduction (short)
2. Defining the topic/subject
3. Past Research and Main Issues
4. Current Assessment of Major Issues
5. Future Directions (e.g. potential, research needs, next steps, barriers)
6. Concluding Remarks
7. Literature Cited (keep to minimum) and Key Further Reading (highlight 2-5)
All essays should have 1, 5, 6, 7 and use these subtitles.
The exact approach to 2, 3, 4 can vary and use more informative topic specific
subtitles fewer or more subtitles. The aim is to cover and impart this knowledge.
Key Further Reading should already appear in the essay and therefore a method of
highlighting these will be employed. This is to help students and others to easily
select what they should do to follow-up on a topic and improve their understanding.
