The E3 Group for studies on IEC 61850

The E3 group on IEC 61850 was created in October 2008 by several Spanish electrical utility companies with the purpose of

1. studying IEC 61850 and related standards
2. generating specification documents that may help IEC 61850 'get down-to-earth' and become really profitable for utilities at the present moment

Since its foundation, the E3 Group's technical committee develops an intense activity, with more than 100 meetings held as of April 2020.

The E3 Group membership remains open. It has no vocation of being a Spanish group. Other companies from anywhere in the world are invited to join as long as they share the basic principles that guide the Group's specification work.
