Anton Isselhardt

Anton Isselhardt was born in 1954 in Speyer-Germany. He studied flute and was a pupil of Werner Renner, Prof. Joachim Starke(University of Music Mannheim) and also of Carin Levine. He served as a temporary flutist at the State Philhamonic Orchestra, Rheinland Pfalz. These orchestral experiences, especially with reknowned conductors like Sergiu Celibidache had a serious impact on his musical consciousness. At the same time, he extended his acitivities as a profilic musician in many genres.

Anton Isselhardt moved to Cambodia in 1999 to teach at the Royal University of Fine Arts.

Since 2003, he is the Progrtam Director of the ARTplus Foundation and plays a major role in improving the standards of western classical music in Cambodia. Anton Isselhardt is also part of several chamber music ensembles and gives concerts, togeher with soloists from the Malaysian Philharmic Orchestra, the Dresdner Philharmie and the State Philharmonioe Rheinland Pfalz in the Sout East Asia region. In addition, as a partner of the Goehte Institut he is giving and organizing Masterclasses and Workshops in the context of capacity development (music education) in Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar. In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in Cambodia, Anton Isselhardt curates the annual International Music Festival Phnom Penh.
