Core System

The dice system used for rolls is a "Binary Dice Pool". The action economy is based on the Star Wars Saga Edition rules as released by Wizards of the Coast.

Binary Dice Pool - All rolls are made with any die that can be divided into a 50% success/fail. AKA, for a d6, 1-3 vs 4-6 or odd vs even, etc. The half

that you choose (Before you roll) is your success. any other roll is not a success. You add successes together to get your final number of

successes and compare it to your target number (Defense vs attack, damage vs threshold, etc). Some feats and techniques grant

automatic successes. Typically your dice pool is denoted with your number of rollable dice, the letter D, then your successes. For example

5D+2 means you have 2 free successes. Roll 5 dice and add any successes to the 2 free successes to see your total successes on that

roll.

Classes - There are no classes. All characters have access to all abilities if they purchase them.

Levels - There are no levels, characters increase skill and power by spending their experience points to buy training in new abilities (Feats, talents,

attributes, etc)

Hit Points - There are no hit points, each person starts with 1 wound. A person dropped to 0 wounds is usually unconscious, disabled, and dying.

This can be improved with certain feats and techniques. Wounds are avoided by having a high Threshold (Based on your Constitution,

armor, feats, and techniques) or by not getting hit in the first place.

Damage - Damage is compared to a person's threshold. If the number of damage successes beat the Threshold successes, they take a wound.

If it matches the Threshold, the person is stunned. Multiple wounds will happen if you beat the threshold by 2, 3, or more successes.

Taking more than 1 wound in one hit causes a major injury (Severed body part).

Defenses - Your three defenses - Dodge, Parry, and Mental - Are not static. You roll your dice and compare successes to the attack roll.

Hero Dice - Used to give a 1 die (stackable!) bonus to any roll - Attack, defense, damage, skills, etc.

Skills - Similar to Saga in its simplification down to less skills, though there are certainly more skills in this system than Saga or 4th Edition D&D. It

works similarly, with a bonus to the roll based on your attribute, as well as certain feats (Skill Training, Skill Focus) and techniques

(Mastery Technique Tree).

Techniques - Techniques are arranged in groups for convenience, though it only really matters for prestige groups as a normal person can only ever

choose techniques from ONE prestige group. Certain feats allow a person to choose more, though the prerequisites are steep.

Races - Normally, the only PC race is human, though there are different flavors. Each gets a bonus that matches the flavor of the race, though any

race could spend their XP to gain the same benefits. This often means one race leans a certain direction, but it precludes nothing. Each

race also has their own technique tree with their own unique techniques.
