Introduction to The Lancashire Hussars and The Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry

In March 1921 the Lancashire Hussars and The Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry were combined to form the 2nd (Lancashire Yeomanry) Army Brigade Royal Field Artillery under Lieutenant Colonel Hon. FW Stanley DSO of the Hussars. The loss of Regimental identities was deeply resented; all officers were given the option of resigning their commissions or transferring to the Territorial Army Reserve. Lieutenant Colonel RH Tilney chose the former leaving Lieutenant Colonel HM Hardcastle to take command of the DLOY element of the Brigade.
