Cotehele

You never know what will inspire you. Cotehele, near Plymouth in the United Kingdom, is a medieval house with superb collections of textiles, armour and furniture, set in extensive grounds - as it says on its website. My wife and I visited Cotehele a few years ago and it must of made an impression.

It was not originally part of the story, but a house like it is now included. I'm not saying how, in case you haven't yet read The Devil's Highway, but I really like that it is part of the book. I have great memories from that trip, and I hope you enjoy how it works into a story set mostly in Arizona.

If you're ever in the Plymouth area, check it out. And make a point of seeing the 'folly' (don't let the cows scare you, they can seem intimidating to city folk but they're mostly harmless).
