Characters

This play is divided equally in two acts. Here is a quick presentation of its characters:

Fanny

Fanny is a grandma we would all like to meet. Especially attracted by men since the death of her husband, this is the most extravagant character of this play. Lucie suffers a bit from her uncontrollable behavior, but this is company that she appreciates, without admitting it. Despite her old age, our Fanny is still quick-witted and will drive the whole play into sheer madness.

Lucie

The shyest character of the entire cast. Lucie is Fanny's best friend, her secret dream would be to be just like her. But the model is way too hard to imitate and Lucie has moral principles that Fanny has given up a long time ago. Despite this, our grandma will reveal herself much more audacious than we thought. Come discover who hides behind your beloved grandma.

Steff

Steff is the image of perfection. Not even the hint of a shadow comes close to this judicial officer, always ready to be a good samaritan. He is so perfect we might just as well hate him for it.

George

A bit lost by God's call, this priest just arrived from the countryside and will learn with Fanny much more than he bargained for when he was studying in his seminary. He will expose his true nature while drama unfolds around him. Despite his flaws, he manages to find a room in our hearts. The most troubling of all.

The Colonel

A true member of the armed forces. Tradition, honor and discipline are the three keywords driving this man. However, behind this rigid uniform is a human being in love with a wonderful woman. Will he be able to confess his feelings ? The hunt for a deserter might well be the opportunity he was waiting for,

Martin

Here is a peculiar character. Deserter, he would be almost likeable if he wasn't giving us the feeling he is hiding something about himself. He seems to hate anybody who wears a uniform, whether in the military or member of the clergy. Who is he, really ?

God

God makes only short apparitions in this play. This is just the time he needs to try to influence the outcome of this story. Paired up with the Devil, his buddy, he is part of an unlikely team of philosophers, apparently struggling with earth-like problems.

Devil

The Devil is certainly not an accessory to God's power. He's the chief operating officer of a risky business that will provide services only for trade. When business is tough, harsh decisions need to be made.

Priscille

If there is one character that doesn't honor her gender, it's Priscille. In love with Martin, this modern young woman will have to fight to get her father, the Colonel, to let her marry the man of her life.
