WIFL Trade History

Trades are often one of the most interesting features of the WIFL season. And sometimes the most controversial.

As league historian, I took to entering each trade made during the season. All it took was a piece of paper and pencil. But I really didn't undertake this simple procedure until the 1998 season. While I have some piecemeal information from prior years, it could hardly be deemed complete.

As part of an ongoing attempt to capture the league history, a summary page of these trades seemed a must. As the trades were entered on the attachments for this page, it became painfully obvious that to put those trades in proper context, one would have to know the contract status of each player, who had minor league status, etc. But for some of those trades, a short story would be required to put them in proper context, so I'm afraid just a quick summary is all that is presented.

From a historical point of view, just going over some of those names again is enough fun!

Rather than try to include all the data on one document, the data is spread out by years.
