Student Google Earth Measurement Tool Activity
This exercise was developed for the 2011-2012 KCK Saturday Academy to teach students about stormwater runoff as a serious environmental hazard. It can easily be adapted for community outreach to demonstrate the need for runoff mitigation. The Google Earth Path Tool was used to make simple measurements and calculations (Google Earth Pro has an area measurement tool for Polygons which will allow more complex calculations).
