Registration Information for 2024-2025
It is already time to begin thinking about choosing courses for next year, the 24-25 school year! In order to get a jump on planning for next year, the timeline for choosing courses has moved up significantly, which is why this is happening before the first semester is done. Changes to course selections will be allowed and additional information on how and when to do that will be provided at a later time. Dates each grade will register are below. All information can be found at REGISTRATION INFO HUB.
Students - you will use this 24-25 Registration Planner to take notes which you can refer to when your grade does registration. The link will require you to make your own copy of the document to save in your Google Drive.
The following links are important planning resources. Since this is a joint effort between Washington and the Cedar Rapids Community School District, there will be regular updates to these documents as new information becomes available.
Registration Process
Registration for the next school year will be held during the fall semester. Students meet with counselors to choose their courses for next year.
At this point in the process, students are choosing only the courses in which they are interested - semester, class period, and the teacher is not being determined yet. After receiving student course requests, Washington administrators work with each academic department to appropriately staff class needs for the next year. Then, Infinite Campus automatically slates all students into their chosen courses in a way that keeps class sizes comparable. Once that process is complete, counselors review each individual schedule to check for course conflicts and work with students to remedy any issues. Finally, an announcement will be sent to students and families that schedules are ready for review on Infinite Campus.
This is a long, but extremely worthwhile process! Counselors hope to have schedules available to students in the month of June.
Timeline for Registration
The following was sent in an email to students and teachers on October 30, 2023.
