There are year-long sporting activities available through the U of M Department of Recreational Sports and the Ann Arbor Community Education and Recreation Program. There are over 20 varsity athletic teams (including football, basketball and hockey) at the U of M.
Professional sports teams:
Professional theatrical and musical performances are offered by the University Musical Society.

Summer
Some of the notable activities in the summer include the outdoor music/entertainment festival commonly called the Top of the Park, free summer concerts on Thursdays at noon called Sonic Lunch and the internationally known Ann Arbor Art Fair.
