about claudia teachman

Claudia Teachman started making small potter's clay animals in 1996 as creative relief from the rest of her very busy life. She kept some, gave some away and then realized she had a marketable product and an opportunity to be involved in type of work that she found stimulating, interesting and very enjoyable.

When her very practical mom commented, "These are cute, but what can you do with them," Teachman was inspired to develop a functional line of animal motif pottery that marries characteristics of her original clay animals with everyday forms such as mugs, bowls, salt and pepper sets, money banks, vases, pitchers, honey pots, sugar bowls, utensil holders and salt cellars.

All of her unique pieces are individually handcrafted and fired in the kilns at the Brattleboro Clayworks where she is one of the members.

Teachman sells her pottery at shows and festivals in New England and New York (click on "list of shows" on the side bar) and via email inquiries (contact her at: brownbunnypottery@gmail.com).
