This outing is open to members, friends and family.

If you haven't already done so, please email or phone Barry Matthews as soon as possible giving him the numbers in your party and if they are English Heritage members or not, so that Barry can firm up numbers with Boscobel House, which has to be done at least one week before, so that they can make arrangements for guides, catering, etc. barryandjen@hotmail.co.uk or 01746 763856

Probus Autumn Outing to Claverley Church - Tuesday 18th October.

Probus Member Rev. Garry Ward invited Probus members and friends to join him for a conducted tour of Claverley Church followed by food and drinks at The Crown Inn.

The tour started at 11:30 with a walk around the outside with Garry pointing out the Graffiti wall with the oldest carving dated 1799, then onto the 2,500 year old Yew Tree, which has been verified by non other than Dr. David Bellamy.

Garry had lots to talk about once we got into the church, which has some of the best 13th Century wall painting in Europe and many other interesting features. Well 1.5 hours later Garry was still in full flow with interesting facts, when we adjourned to the Crown.

The tour was enjoyed by 19 and most also enjoyed food and drink at The Crown Inn, where we were made most welcome.

Probus Chairman, Barry Matthews, thanked Garry for his most interesting tour.
