Intended name Ruysdael but on completion permanently on charter to Shaw, Savill & Albion as Romanic which was a naming convention compromise between the Bolton 'R' and the Shaw Saville 'ic'

She was partially refrigerated and entered service on the New Zealand-South Africa route.

Her maiden voyage was on the 17th of August 1954 sailing from Liverpool.

1961 sold to Plate Shipping Company of Piraeus, Greece renamed Plate Clipper

1969 sold and renamed Marazul when sold to Cia Argentina de Transportes Maritimos of Beunos Aires

1971 sold and renamed Mionis

1973 sold and renamed Chryssostomos

1974 sold and renamed Bosphorus

1976 13th Jul scrapped at Gadani Beach, 20 miles from Chittagong, Pakistan by Shipbreaking Corp
