Cleveland Airport

Judy Hoch McKeller's (Class of 1966) grandfather, Claude King, was an early aviation

pioneer and Commissioner of the Cleveland Airport at one time. Many of us remember

parking at the end of the runway and watching the planes land, but many don’t realize

the important place in aviation history that the Cleveland airport has. Her grandfather

built the first control tower and has the number 1 CAA (now FAA) ground to air license.

These photos are from the late 20’s to the 50’s of the original field (aerials taken from

about where the Bomber Squadron is now.) Judy thanks for sharing these family photos!
