Guide to Scoutbook

Dear Parents

Scoutbook (www.scoutbook.com ) is the online system used to track your Cub Scout's achievements throughout the scouting experience.

Everything your Cub Scout has worked on at home or at a den meeting needs to be documented in Scoutbook by you or a leader.

If you are working on adventures at home, you will need to enter these into Scoutbook OR meet with your Den Leader so they can enter the data.

When you first join the Pack, you will receive an email invitation to join scoutbook. Use this to connect to your Cub Scout's Scoutbook account.

Once you have registered and logged in, click "DASHBOARD" and / or click on your son's name to access his page.

You should see something like the page shown below.

From top to bottom you will see:

- Your Cub Scout's basic information and parent links. Linked parents can edit the Scouts information on Scoutbook.

- Your Cub Scout's achievements, and awards.

- A series of menu options. Only some are used by the Pack; this include:

- edit profile: here edit your Cub Scout's personal and contact information

- upload a photo if you choose

- "Connections" : see which leaders have access to your son's account

- "[Your Cub Scout's] Advancement" - click here to enter achievements for adventures. (more info below)

- "[Your Cub Scout's] Awards" - click here to enter achievements toward awards.

Entering Achievements:

1) Click "[Your Cub Scout's] advancement'

2) Click current rank year

3) Choose a required or elective adventure.

4) Check the box next to the completed achievement.

5) Enter completed date and any notes you feel necessary. A leader will sign off on this after it is processed.
