Student Community Outreach Initiative's kick-off event.

On Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at 10am-1pm, we will host a beach clean up at Alameda Beach, meeting across from the McDonald's. We will be joined by various activist groups from Oakland and the Bay Area, as well as Mayor Ashcroft.

We will provide all supplies and get everyone set up. We are completely fine with people leaving early/coming late, though the Mayor will most likely only stay for a short duration at the beginning of the event. .

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, and thank you all again,

Jacob Ackiron

This event is open to the public and would be a great place for anyone who is interested to get their action hours!

An event for World Water Monitoring Day on September 19th from 10-12pm at Golden Gate Park. They will have three tables set up for participants to test water from three San Francisco and Alameda sources, analyze their results, and take further action.

The testing table will consist of water samples that participants will identify the pH and dissolved oxygen levels of using a color chart we will provide. Also, participants will perform their own temperature and turbidity tests.

The analysis table will be an opportunity for participants to identify which water source they tested based on their results and learn a little about what each test means. Anyone who guesses their water source correctly will receive a prize.

At the action table, participants will learn about how the ocean affects every part of their lives, the 30x30 campaign to protect 30% of the world's ocean by 2030, and EarthEcho International.

Who should they contact?
