Monkeys in the moonlight

tapping on their toes

Monkeys on the rooftop

in circles and in rows

Monkeys all around you

wearing all your clothes

What's the reason for this madness?

not a single monkey knows!

Monkeys in the shadows of their movie theater seats

sucking down their soft drinks, munching on their treats

Monkeys watching people perform superhuman feats

churning butter with their sprinting; milling swiss cheese with their cleats

Monkeys in the nighttime

diving off the pier

Swimming circles round your thoughts

while the other monkeys cheer

Monkeys in your dreamland

whisper in your ear

Just a minute more till morning

when all monkeys disappear!
