Ideation
Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)
As a housewife and a mother, I don't have plenty of time to watch films or cartoons to inspire me. However, I am not out of inspiration as a family we have many adventures in our lives to inspire me.
Being in week 1 made me full of appreciation for my supportive family, especially my husband. I thought of making a small gift for him as a bribe. I will make use of the MD resources to make a key chain for his car keys with two different materials.
A decoration made by my family on the wall just behind my office at my place of study at home. This decoration gave me a nice floral start to the MD.
A decoration support at my room
My husband's car keys need a key chain. I will seize the opportunity to make him a new one. It can't be more adjacent !!
I will hang my gift here
After searching I realized that laser cutting can make very nice desk tags.
A desk tag I would like to make like it
Tool Chain
Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?
The used software for 3D printing preparation
For the preparation of the laser cutting file; I have used LaserWork Software which is compatible with the laser cutter in FLE.

The materials used in 3D printing: PLA 3D printer filament has been used. It is available in FLE in many colors. I should have used red or pink but I was a bit late in my slot and I used the already installed filament. It was grey. It was nice anyway.
The used resorces in 3D printing process
The materials used in laser cutting: Plywood has been used. It is available in FLE in many thicknesses. I used 3mm thikness.

Design/Preparation Process
Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?
The slicing process on Ultimaker Cura
For laser cutting;
- The open source library (3axis.co) has been searched, and a proper DXF file was found and downloaded. The downloaded design is a citroen key chain.
- The DXF file was imported in LaserWork and change the setting.
- The locker button was kept ON then the resize the design to be 40*40 mm.
- The speed and power of the cut parts were adjusted as follows;
speed: 30
power: 65.
- The speed and power of the scan parts were adjusted as follows;
speed 300
power 25
The file was saved as RLD

Development/Implementation Process
Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?
3D Printing of the heart key chain.
The parameter of the design was checked with the FLE specialist.
The gcode file was uploaded to the memory card and then inserted into the machine.
Printing temperature 215 c
Build plate temperature 60 c.
The file was chosen and the printing process started.
A key chain metal ring was installed in the heart.
The gift is now ready.

Watchig 3D printing was fun.
Setting of the design was checked.
I printed in another private maker space other than FLE to meet the deadline. They didn't have plywood. Therefore they used another material mdf covered with pvc.
The specialist helped me to set suitable power for this design and make a test design to test cloth laser cutting.
The file then was downloaded to the machine.
A wood sheet was put in the machine, the origin was set and the focus was adjusted.
The file wan run.
The second gift is now ready.
The Citroen keychain.

Overcoming Challenges
What kinds of challenges or problems did you face while doing the assignment, tutorials, or exercises? How did you solve them? Did you ask for help from an instructor or peer? Please provide a link to the tutorial or article that you used to solve your problem (if any)
I have printed another design on my own. I should have searched 3axis.co for the ready DXF files to be printed. But as I would like to make my own design, I started with JPG file made by photoshop. A colleague from my group advised me to use an online converter to convert the JPG to DXF file and then downloaded it. That made my life easier.

Final Project
How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?
The final product needs some special precisely cut cloth. I wasn't sure that laser can be used to cut it. I have tried and it worked. I am very excited.
Very nice cut

Weekly Digest [OPTIONAL]
Tell us about any other cool things that you've made this week: in the Hands-on activity, tutorial examples, exercises, or any other cool mini-project that you tried out aside from the assignment.
Running, running all the week long. Making, making all the week long. We had this week a costume party in the garden and we made lots of nice cardboard low-fidelity costumes. We played with the mind storm lego kit, and it was fun. As well, I got lots of origami fake presents.
