Week 6 Journal

Ideation

Tell us about your assignment's idea for this week. Why do you care about this idea? What inspired you? (Please include images or links to sources of inspiration)

assignment

This week we had to build and program a smart circuit using an Arduino UNO.

inspiration

I chose a fan design that is controlled by a push button Where when you press the push button the fan works and when you raise your hand from the push button the fan does not work.

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

Software

I use tinkercad to simulate the circuit before actually designing it.

Design/Preparation Process

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

First: I used ( Arduino Uno, a fan, and a pushbutton)

Then: I started wiring them:

I Connect the fan to the ground, and pin ( 2 ).

I connected the pushbutton with the power, pin (3) and resistor then connected the resistor with the ground.

I used TINKERCAD to simulate the circuit before I started to Build your circuit on a breadboard and test it.

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

I created the code using code block in tinkercad Where when you press the pushbutton the fan works and when you raise your hand from the push button the fan does not work.

After finishing the simulation in tinkercad I practice it using the real components.

I used the Arduino UNO board to control the input and output.

The input component is the push button.

The output component is the fan.

Overcoming Challenges

What kinds of challenges or problems did you face while doing the assignment, tutorials, or exercises? How did you solve them? Did you ask for help from an instructor or peer? Please provide a link to the tutorial or article that you used to solve your problem (if any)

I faced a problem while connecting 7Segment, where after connecting all the resistors and the on / off switches when I tried to turn it on, it didn't work.

solutions:

Change 7Segment from anode to cathode.

Final Project

How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?

This assignment aims to learn how to control components by Arduino board through input triggers. This gives you more control over the components in your circuit and the ability to program each one of them individually to do certain tasks, That will help me controlling my final project components as I need.

WOW!

What is the coolest thing that you've learned this week? What is something that you will never forget from this week?

In the EOWeek Session, we divided groups Our team consisted of me and Yara. to Build a Smart Waving Hand using Arduino. When you wave at the smart hand, it waves back at you! đź‘‹
