The Farmers Daughter Scholarship
Deadline: March 29, 2024
This scholarship fund was started in honor of Bill and Nancy Sigmon along with the legacy they have in their four daughters. Bill Sigmon lived for the land, the animals and sharing that love with all children until his passing in May 2021. This love of sharing is how the annual conservation farm field day was started and continued for 29 years inviting all 4th graders from Rockcastle County to spend part of their day on Sigmon Farm learning about his passion.
Giving has always been at the forefront of the Sigmon Family, as well as, sharing their love of the dirt. This fund was started to help the young woman that wishes to follow in the steps of her grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, uncle, aunt, brother or sister and continue in one of the oldest and most humbling careers; agriculture.
We hope this scholarship honors all female generations, past and future, that work the land with their bare hands to feed their families and support their communities.
When submitting an application, please include all materials that are requested.
