What is a School Psychologist?

School Psychologists work within the school setting (Pre-K through graduation) to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.  School Psychologists collaborate with other education professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home and school.

I believe in several core values that support my work:

1. I believe in courage.  Trying difficult tasks helps us to see the power of courage.

2. I believe in storytelling. I believe everyone's story is important and unique and each time we stop to listen to someone's story, we learn something new.

3. I believe in awesomeness.  Awesomeness is everywhere and when we look, we will find it.

4. I believe in the power of a group.  Being connected to family, classmates, team, and friends brings you more joy than we would find individually. 

5. I believe in humor.  Laughter can teach us to have fun in everything we do, no matter how serious the task.

6. I believe in rules.  Rules help us to understand what is expected and feel comfortable; however, we must be willing to find unexpectedness in creativity and thinking to appreciate the importance of Rules.
