The Big Idea:

Mr. Kevin Kowalski and Mrs. Lynn Magnin are proud to announce the opening of PYLUSD’s first designated Art Gallery! The Esperanza Art Gallery was created when Mr. Kowalski was looking for opportunities to showcase students’ artwork. Mr. Kowalski had a vision to reinvent the old computer lab into a new, modern, and vibrant space for all students to connect to one another through the universal language of Visual Arts. WIth the help and support of Visual Arts Teacher Mrs. Lynn Magnin, ASB Director Meghann Lukach, EHS Principal Mr. Jeff Giles, and Librarian Carrie Platz this space was developed. The Esperanza Art Gallery is the perfect complement to the Esperanza Permanent Art Collection which features purchased student artwork since 1978. The walking tour and a full description of the permanent collection starts on the far side of the lower main library and ends at the Esperanza Art Gallery.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Esperanza Art Gallery is to provide a safe environment for everyone to educate, build empathy, consider the views of others and form a deeper understanding of one another. We as a people are truly better together, and we hope this these Gallery walls will provide our students, teachers and community  a wonderful opportunity to share their stories.
