6th Grade Counselor
Hello students and parents of Nevada Learning Academy. My name is Jennifer McGuire and I am the 6th grade counselor here at NVLA. I am in my 20th year with the Clark County School District. I was a special education teacher in both middle schools and high schools the first 14 years of my career, then went on to get my master's degree in school counseling. This is my 6th year as a school counselor. I am so excited to be part of this unique school where I am afforded the opportunity to get to know the middle school students on a more personal level. I am here to assist both students and parents any way that I can. My job is to help you be successful and advocate for you on your behalf.

Data should be used to design, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve the school counseling program.
School counselors serve as a student support resource to assist students with overcoming identified barriers to academic success.
School counselors collaborate with families, stakeholders, and community resources to meet the students’ needs.
