We are Bucket Fillers

When we fill our bucket, we feel great! When it is empty, we feel awful.

In Grade 2, we discuss ways we can fill our own and others buckets. Some ways to fill our bucket include, taking turns, being leaders, helping others, telling the truth. Students work together to fill our bucket full of pom poms.

We also discuss being a bucket dipper, someone who dips into others buckets. Some ways of being a bucket dipper include, being disrespectful, breaking rules, excluding others. Pompoms can be taken out of our bucket if we are being bucket dippers.

Our class is working towards a classroom party.

Pen Pals

Our class is very fortunate to have our very own penpals! Miss. H has teamed up with a high school teacher in Westlock, AB to create pen pals. Students work on various skills when writing to our pen pals, and get to know another student in a different part of our province.

Great Canadian Alphabet Exchange

Grade 2 students are participating in an Alphabet Letter Exchange. Partnered with 25 other school across Canada we will each be exchanging one letter of the Alphabet.

Our class was assigned the letter "A". As we receive the rest of our alphabet, stars will be added to our map to showcase the schools we are connected to.

Morning Check-In

An important part of each morning in Grade 2 is checking in with how you are feeling each morning. Students move a magnet to an emotion that matches how they are feeling.

Somedays we get goofy and move our magnet to the funniest looking animal. Our morning check in can sometimes be an easy way to get some giggles in the morning.

Videographer

One lucky student each week will be selected to be our class videographer for the week. Their job is to highlight important learning moments from their week. Check out this weeks videographers picture.
