Greathouse/Shryock Traditional Elementary School is a place where students work to meet academic, social, and physical well-being. This is accomplished through the school's high academic standards, highly organized environment, and behavior conduct. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's education, and there is frequent communication to strengthen the relationship between home and school. The school has a diverse student population of over 600 students from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Greathouse/Shryock Traditional Elementary School has consistently achieved the highest elementary school test scores in the Jefferson County Public Schools and the state of Kentucky, and this is attributed to the partnership between the school, student, and family.

2023-24 Classroom Assignments
Beginning August 1st, you may visit Parent Portal to locate your child’s homeroom teacher assignment. As you can imagine, placing students in classes is a serious and important task. We ask that you are supportive and positive with your child about his/her class assignment, as it will help all of us start the school year smoothly. Parent Portal also allows you to track your student’s progress in each class throughout the school year. You will be able to see missing assignments here as well. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for one on the JCPS website under the “Parent” tab.
