Reminders: Hot dog lunch tomorrow, January 31.

Bible test this Thursday, February 1.

Swimming this Friday, February 2.

Bring in money for non-food food drive.

Swimming: Lessons are every Friday from 10:00-10:50 am. Students need to bring a bathing suit and towel in a separate bag. Girls need to have their hair pulled back out of their face.

Memory Work: For tomorrow, students are learning Genesis 9:12-13. There is no memory work for next week. A sheet for the remainder of February and March will be sent home soon.

Math: We have begun learning/reviewing multiplication facts. This week our focus is on learning the 4 times tables. Ask your child what their personal goals are for this week! Both grades also continue to work on their geometry unit.

Spelling: There is no test this week!

Bible: We have finished our unit on "Fall of Babel: Need for a Savior". Students will be writing a short test this coming Thursday, February 1.



Classes with Mr. Haverkamp

Health: We are working through our missions in Mission Nutrition. Students have been collecting their badges for completing their missions.

P.E.: We are moving into a new unit on Rugby! Students will learn the skills and strategies.

Classes with Ms. Bertrand (updated Jan.16)

Socials: Unit tests were returned to students on Friday. Many students struggled to with the mapping portion of the test. As a result we will re-take that part of the test. Students are expected to correctly label the three regions of Ontario (Hudson Bay Lowlands, Canadian Shield and Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands) and the five Great Lakes. Dance and Drama: We will learn some cooperative drama games.


Classes with Ms. Booy

French: This year we will work on the play, "Les Trois Petits Cochons." Students will be presenting their plays on Monday and/or Tuesday afternoon. You may come watch if you like (grade 2&3 will also be presenting and there are not set times for particular students.)

Technology: Students are wrapping up the year by working on their keyboarding skills using All the Right Type.

Classes with Mrs. C.

Music: Music class meets twice each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each student must bring their green Tang folder and recorder to every class session. Students are graded on a class-by-class basis as follows: attendance 34%(excused if absent due to illness/appointment), recorder 33%, Tang folder 33%.

Science: This week students are looking at different ways that animals adapt to their environment - first is camouflage.
