Our Story:

Team ʻŌpe'ape'a was formed out of an opportunity to connect with bat researchers who were conducting a 2-year research project on the ecology of the ʻŌpeʻapeʻa. Dave Johnston, the Principal Investigator for this research project, had previously developed a middle school program called Team Chiroptera in Monterey County, California and offered to do the same for our students in 2018. From then on, Team ʻŌpeʻapea was born.
