INTRODUCING YOUR DISCOVERY LEADERS

Miss Eastwick

I began teaching at Hornby High earlier this year as a Social Studies and History teacher, and studied Archaeology at university.

I love learning about human history by looking at artefacts such as prehistoric tools, buildings, and bones. I enjoying trying to understand how humans have evolved and how cultures have changed over time.

Mr. Heath

This is my first year teaching at Hornby High and I have really enjoyed my time here so far.

I am originally from England but after moving out here 10 years ago I definitely consider New Zealand and Christchurch my home.

I love science! I love investigating and finding answers to problems through research and experiments. And if something explodes or there's a pretty colour, then that's a bonus!!

Mr Reizinger

The newest addition to the Hornby Science Department, Mr Reizinger studied Chemistry at University of Canterbury. He was born in Christchurch but his name comes all the way from Hungary.

I am always excited to start a new project be it creating new tools or destroying things in fire. I can't wait to see what crazy ideas I can help students bring to life.

Mr. Stock is Head of Science at Hornby HS. He started teaching in Auckland in 1998. He then went teaching in London, England in 2001. In 2004, he became Head of Science at Aranui High School in Christchurch.

Mr. Stock started teaching Chemistry as HOD Science at Hornby in 2014.

"Science is awesome! I love the excitement of doing experiments. I get a kick out of understanding what/how something works. If you are enjoying learning Science, then I know I am doing my job properly. I am always here to help you. Science is the best."

Miss Taylor

Introducing Miss Taylor - HOD of Foods since 2010, but started at HHS in 2005 as the sports co-coordinator and worked in PE and Health.

I am passionate about creating things with food and learning more about the skills and techniques that you can use to be more creative when presenting dishes. I often try out new recipes and seeing if i can recreate them to look like they do in the cookbook or videos.
