Absences and Tardies

Please call the school ANYTIME your student will not be in attendance

Absences

(Students are considered absent after the first half-hour of the first class and after 5 minutes of every other class)

If no answer at the above numbers, please leave a detailed message with your name, phone number, name of the student, and the reason for the absence.

If we do not receive a call:

- Student will be marked truant

- We will attempt to call you – if no answer, we will leave a message with our name and extension so you can call back

- If we do not get a return call, your student will be given a disciplinary consequence

Tardies

(Students are considered tardy within the first half-hour of the first class and within the first 5 minutes of every other class)

Students who are late to 1^st hour need to report directly to class. Students who are late to every other class need to report to the Attendance Office to get a pass. The tardy will count toward the 13-day absence policy – when they hit a combination of 13 days absent/tardy they may lose credit for that class. Tardies may not be excused in person or by phone without providing a doctor’s note. Once a student reaches 2 or more tardies in any one class, they will receive disciplinary consequence from the Dean’s office (for the 2^nd tardy and any subsequent tardies after that).

Ausencias

Si no hay respuesta en los números anteriores, deje un mensaje detallado con su nombre, número de teléfono, nombre del estudiante y el motivo de la ausencia.

Si no recibimos una llamada:

- El estudiante será marcado como ausente

- Intentaremos llamarle -si no responde, le dejaremos un mensaje con nuestro nombre y extensión para que pueda volver a llamar

- Si no recibimos una llamada de regreso, su estudiante obtendrá una consecuencia disciplinaria

Tardanzas

(Los estudiantes serán considerados ausentes dentro de la primera media hora de la primera clase y dentro de los primeros 5 minutos de cualquier otra clase)

Los estudiantes que lleguen tarde a la primera hora deberán de presentarse directamente a clase. Los estudiantes que lleguen tarde a cualquier otra clase deberán de presentarse a la Oficina de Asistencia (Attendance) para obtener un pase. Las tardanzas contarán en contra de la política de ausencias de 13 días -cuando alcanzan una combinación de 13 días de ausencias/tardanzas, podrían perder crédito en esa clase. Las tardanzas no podrán ser excusadas (en persona o por teléfono) sin proporcionar una nota del médico. Una vez que un estudiante llegue a 2 o más tardanzas en cualquier clase, recibirá una consequencia disciplinaria de la oficina del Decano (por la segunda tardanza y por cualquier tardanza posterior a esa).
