  • SAT

  • -The SAT is made up of 3 parts:

          1. Critical Reading (200-800)

          2. Mathematics (200-800)

          3. Writing (200-800) – optional

      2. Register through College Board – www.collegeboard.org

      3. JL Mann needs to receive student’s scores in order to recommend for scholarships (Palmetto Fellows, Local Scholarships etc.)

      4. Recommendation is to take spring of Junior year when it offered at JL Mann or on a Saturday testing date

      5. Students on Free/Reduced Lunch should see their Counselor for a Fee Waiver


  • ACT

  • Tests 5 areas – English, Math, Reading, Science & Writing

  • Writing section is optional – TAKE IT at least once (ACT or SAT writing)

  • Individual Scores for each section (0-36)

  • Composite Score – overall score –average of English, Math, Reading & Science (writing not included)

  • Coming Fall 2020 – section retesting and super scoring. More information can be found on the ACT website.

  • Register through ACT – www.act.org
