Elementary Art
We offer art to every elementary student once a week at Sterling. Each grade level studies a variety of artists and techniques of art making. Mrs. Smith and I both change year to year in what classes we teach.
For my classes, I organize our year around a bigger idea or theme for each grade level.
This year I teach:
- Kindergarten and 1st grade: Art centers exploring the elements and principles of art
- 2nd grade: Famous Artists
- 3rd grade: SC art and artists
- 4th grade: Communities and Cultures- art from around the world
- 5th grade: Social Commentary in Art
