Reading Intervention

Class overview

Response to intervention (RTI) aims to identify struggling students early on and give them the support they need to thrive in school.  By working together daily in a small group setting on phonics and reading skills students are able to improve their reading ability and feel success in the classroom.  RTI is designed to meet students at their current levels of achievement and help them make progress toward grade-level expectations.

I follow the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program used by Greenville County Schools as well as aspects of Reading Horizons.  Individual students begin on their current reading level and progress from there to learn new strategies they need to succeed.
