Tips and Tricks for Reading Each Day:
Set-up a fun and cozy reading space to enjoy a good book
Set a specific time each day for reading (during afternoon snack time, after homework, after school activities, before bed, etc..)
Set a timer for reading! Try to work your student up to at least 30 minutes a day by gradually increasing the time by 2 or 5 minute increments.
Encourage your student to read with a grown-up, sibling, pet, or stuffed animal
Have your student talk with a grown-up or sibling about his/her reading once finished
Pick a family book to read together. This can be a "dessert" book (books that might be higher or lower than his/her current level)
Alternate reading aloud and in your head
Find an amazing book series to enjoy!
Try an audiobook

Scholastic Book Wizard will help readers to find books around your student's independent reading level, as well as give suggestions for new books, too.
Epic is an online library of lots of books, learning videos, and audio books. Ask your child's teacher for his/her class code to start enjoying these books.
