About Me

My teaching career began in Sumter, South Carolina, where I taught middle school science for 11 years. I have been in the Greenville County School District since moving here in 2005 and I have worn many hats. I've been a science lab teacher at Mauldin Elementary School, the magnet coordinator at Hughes Academy of Science and Technology, taught at Mauldin Middle School, and retired from Roper Mountain Science Center two years ago. Yes, I came back from an early retirement because I can't stay out of the classroom! I love teaching science and I'm excited, scared, and must be crazy to volunteer for Virtual School!

All kidding aside, I survived eLearning last year and actually enjoyed working with students from their homes. I found out how many sisters, brothers, or pets they had. I learned who was a morning person and who definitely was not! I was able to determine my "go-to" students for technology expertise and used their advice often. So, we will tackle this adventure together and remember, "Stay Calm--We've Got This."
